The Basics

Q: What is a Ringtone?
A: Ringtones are digital files that let you customize the sound your phone makes when you receive a call.

Q: What is the difference between Music Tones and Ringtones?
A:You hear everyone refer to “ringtones”, but there are many different kinds of ringtones. On our site we offer real music tones, these are in fact “ringtones” but they are actual recordings of real songs that play on your phone as a “ringtone” when someone calls you.

"Music Tones" is used to refer to a master music tone, created from the actual recording, these are the real deal. These are the only kind of tones we want to offer. They allow a clip or sample of the actual recording of a song to be played as an alert or ring on your phone!

"Ringtones" is used to refer to polyphonic ringtones. Polyphonic ringtones play a programmed version of a song through a small synthesizer chip on your phone to get the various instrument sounds. They mimic multiple instruments in the song, there is no mimicking going on here!

Q: What are voice and sound ringtones?
A: Voice ringtones are sound clips with people talking. Sound ringtones are sound effects clips. When formatted for your phone, you can use them to notify you when you receive a call just like you would another type of ringtone.

Q: Is my carrier one that you support?
A: This site currently supports AT&T Wireless Services, Cingular, Sprint, T-Mobile USA and Verizon.
